Important!! Please be advised that there is a community meeting coming up on July 11th, 7pm at the Rocky Point VFW located at 109 King Road to discuss Rails to Trails - the 10 mile bike path Port Jefferson to Wading River. The goal of the meeting is to get feedback from the community on the project. It's important that those who support this project attend the meeting and express support. Apparently the positions on both sides has only hardened [ LIPA refusing to do anything towards repairing damage they may cause to the Trail & Suffolk Co. refusing to be responsible for repairing any damage LIPA may do. It's going to be a gravel pathway, volunteer groups have already pledged much of the labor to affect such repairs if needed. Millions in Federal Grant $'s are about to be lost if they can't work this snag out. ]. Please feel free to send us your question or concerns and we will pass along to the Advisory Committee.
