LYSA Comments ABCO MCRLUP Changes

*Ms. Johnston,

Councilwoman Kepert has brought to my attention your remarks in a letter (sic) relating to comments made at a recent Civic Association meeting where an individual from the audience said that he felt the plan for athletic fields would be inadequate for the Longwood Youth Sports Association. (LYSA).  First of all that individual did not speak as a representative of LYSA.  He is a member of this organization but has no authority, implied or otherwise, to speak as a representative of this organization.  Please disregard his remarks as they do not, in any way, comply or represent with the opinions and position of the members of the LYSA Executive Board.  As President, I, and my Executive Board, remain completely supportive of the plan for the K-Mart property as proposed and discussed with us at other meetings and including the area designated for athletic fields for use by LYSA.  I would also like to extend our appreciation for the cooperation and consideration given to LYSA by the Breslin planners and Councilwoman Connie Kepert.

It is an unfortunate fact that we all sometimes must deal with individuals at a public forum who may choose to speak on an issue when lacking knowledge or authority.  However, it is my hope that such remarks should not compromise the productive efforts put forth by so many others.  On behalf of the LYSA organization, allow me to extend my sincerest apologies for any misunderstandings that comments made by this individual may have caused.

Ron Gangitano
President, Longwood Youth Sports Association
